I’m Jenn. I like to read. I like to cook. I like to knit and am trying to tap into my creative side. I like to wear funky rings on my right hand and apparently really big sunglasses on my face.
I have the privilege of being the mom of three amazing kids and the wife of an equally amazing man. Raising two teenagers and one soon to be, is nothing like I thought it would be, it is so much better!
We have two dogs, two cats, and guinea pig. If I had my way, there would also be chickens in the backyard but for now, I think our hands are full enough.
Last year something clicked and I finally took charge of my health. Since then, I’ve become a vegetarian, began exercising on a regular basis, lost 45 pounds and even became a runner. In February 2011 I completed my first half marathon! And here I am in my mid thirties finally feeling healthy.
I realized part of not feeling healthy was stemming from simply just coasting through life. I was sitting on the sidelines watching the world happen around me. I lost myself somewhere along the way.
To help change things, I am creating a life list and working at crossing things off! I am also working on making our home a healthy and comfortable environment for all of us. This has been challenging for me because I am a terribly disorganized perfectionist – thankfully, I have a very loving and patient husband.
Cultivating me is not always easy and sometimes I am still not sure about anything but living a more meaningful and purposeful life is completely worth the effort…
