Halloween 2011

In our garage, I have six or so tubs of Halloween decorations.  For whatever reason, I never got around to taking them out and putting it up – mostly it just seemed like too much trouble.  Halloween was almost Hallowasn’t this year.  We almost didn’t even have pumpkins to carve because I did not think to purchase them until the day before Halloween.  When I approached the single remaining bin at the local market, it was empty!  Thankfully, there was a pumpkin patch not too far away and I was able to score pumpkins for the kids at least.  So the holiday was not a total loss.

I did do one thing right, however.  I helped supervise our 12 year old son while he made his own costume:

He received so many compliments from our neighbors and fellow trick-or-treaters and was so proud!  I was glad that even though, I dropped the ball in terms of Halloween spirit, my monkey still had a fun night! I also have a hunch, this neighborhood will see a lot more homemade costumes next year :)
